Stretching 700 acres, Senator Fong's Plantation and Gardens is a family-owned tropical garden featuring various exotic plants, flowers and fruits. Originally designed and built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to provide flood protection for Kane'ohe, Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden now includes campgrounds, a lake, nature walk trails, crafts center and cloud watching. A visitor center with lecture room, exhibition hall, workshop and botanical library is on-site as well. Visitors can enjoy guided nature hikes on the weekends.
